Hi there!
I’m Subbu — I build chips for a living.
Chiplog covers chip design and AI infrastructure — the architecture, the economics behind it, and the research driving both. Roughly every other week, you'll find:
Architecture deep dives: A first-principles look at the silicon — Rubin CPX, Bluefield-4 DPUs, Qualcomm HBC. What the latest model releases mean for the GPUs and accelerators underneath them. And heterogeneous inference deployments: disaggregated Attention-FFN, speculative decoding.
Strategy and economics: I read company roadmaps and work out what's behind them — where the tailwinds are, where the risks sit, and what has to go right for the plan to hold. When an acquisition happens, what it's actually buying, and what it means for the competition.
Papers, decoded: I distill research worth reading. I explain what the paper proposes, the problem it's solving, and where it fits in what's already deployed.
I’m an engineer first, so the technical claims here have to survive an engineer’s reading. But most of what makes semiconductors interesting right now is strategies companies are employing and how it affects their earnings — so a good chunk of the audience is investors and analysts, and I write with them in mind. If a concept needs explaining, I explain it.
